From the Alabama Road, running east-to-west through the valley to the battlefield of Allatoona Pass, Mark Cooper's Furnace the area also includes what is one of the largest Indian mounds in the United States. This ancient civilization ruled the valley before 1600, trading with similar cultures as far north as present-day Minnesota and as far west as New Mexico.
The district also includes the town of Euharlee, where a covered bridge has become the center of park.
