Family and history of a comunity leader
Joseph Little born in South Carolina. Soon found himself overseeing the land grant process in Carroll County Georgia. He worked many years as a Justice of the Peace. After Haralson County was established he became a Justice of the Inferior Court. His 2000 plus acre estate near the Alabama border. Had a cotton gin long before any rail system was in the area. His son Francis L. Little, married Amanda holand daughter of Edmond W. Holland, owner of the Holland Mine. Other notable relatives was Alfred H. Green married to Exer L. Little and William D. F. Mann married to Elizabeth Little. On a historical marker in Buchanan Alfred H. Green is a Tax Collector while William D. F. Mann is a Surveyor. Mr. Mann also was the taker of part of one of Carroll County,s Census, his handwriting is quite beautiful.
